My name is Sustaita Gallegos. I am a costume maker with almost a decade of professional work experience. I am a Los Angeles native but I currently call New York City my home. I always had an interest in crafts and sewing but I began my professional costume journey in high school when I first developed my pattern making and alterations skills through cosplay. I would receive commissions for custom costumes and I started my first business making costumes, props, and styling wigs for clients. My passion for sewing has influenced my decision to pursue jobs that allowed me to develop my skills in shoe making, upholstery, foam fabrication and stop motion costuming. I have an interest in vintage fashion and like to learn about vintage sewing techniques and I like other fiber arts such as knitting and felting. I hope to further explore opportunities to continue developing my skills whether that be in a shop environment or continuing my education with workshops.
